Cruisin’ for the Cain Maduro?

Cain Maduro

The Cain Maduro

I was round and about, cruising for the goods on Oliva’s latest the “Cain Maduro” made by the Oliva Family of Cigars in Nicaragua – I’m a huge fan of Oliva, and Sam Leccia being the blender, I know it’s a smash and I can’t wait to try this cigar! I intend to do a full review when this new jewel crosses my path – and as I usually do, and just as my collegial brothers of the leaf (at least I assume we are, rather I am their sister) we cruise for the goods on the cigar …

Brand: Cain Maduro
Blender: Sam Leccia
Vitola: Robusto
Ring Gauge: 50
Length: 5.50
Wrapper: Brazilian Maduro
Binder: Nicaragua
Filler: Nicaragua
Origin: Nicaragua
MSRP: $5.80

Available in both Habano and Maduro wrappers, I hear they are intended for those seeking an extremely full bodied cigar! The Cain features a filler blend of 25% Esteli Ligero, 27% Condega Ligero, and 30% Jalapa Ligero – a powerful cigar with the remaining 18% undisclosed tobacco to help the smoke burn.

Dr. Mitch Fadem, for About.com, had this to say….

“It is a ‘smooth’ bold cigar, which means it has lots of great aromas and flavor but smooth on your pallet. You might even say that it is a ‘full flavored’ cigar in the medium to bold range, but not harsh. The strongest flavor is coffee of course, and it is like a nice strong French roast or Italian espresso. The other flavor is that of chocolate, but the dark bitter type. The cigar at least for me remained consistent throughout the entire smoke, but I did notice a small amount of spicy peppery flavor as I neared the end.”

Well Dr. Mitch – I’m really looking forward to this smoke!
