Men and Women - the Yin and the Yang....

Some time ago, I wrote a piece on the differences between Men and Women (creative license invoked, as all might not agree with me). My observations were, of course, how the differences between gender was germain to their commonality in a love for the cigar.

Running through by posts - almost a full year's worth, thanks gang for keeping me of interest - I realized I needed to return to my original goal, and that is, to bridge a gap by leveling the playing field. Not to separate and divide, but bring together. I read once, and the author's observation was ingrained in my thoughts. One must never expect to level the playing field by taking from one to give to another. Both fields must have a unique and vested interest in the "game".

IMHO, the first step in leveling the field, the tobacco field - our cigar culture - was to bring the necessary attention to Women Cigar Smokers, thus removing the stigma that women cigar smokers are an incredulous group and non existent. The second step, create the "buzz" - put women cigar smokers on the minds, and lips of every cigar culturalist. Good or bad, I'll take the hit - talk and chatter - I'll take one for the team - all for the greater good. Thirdly and finally, promote our women behind the scenes - The intelligent, the determined, the very spokes which make the "cigar wheel" go round.

IMHO, women are huge players in this community.  From consumer, housewife or the professional, working woman to cigar industry chiefs, we are a huge contributor to the "wheel going round."

The fact and premise that I am a business woman and that I have motives other than as a personal consumer, only strengthens my bond with our community and desire to advocate for women cigar smokers. My Life in Transition led me to this community, which I love, respect and choose for my future livelihood - I have a vested interest.

The differences between Men and Women have been explored and analyzed by many gurus who all have offered their wisdom on the topic. For our purpose here - the gap between the male cigar lover, and the female cigar lover is not as complex as written in the journals of life by these gurus! Any that do exist, I agree, are a result of pre existing differences. As try as I might, bridging the gap may not be as successful as I originally hoped!

I've discovered that we share a love for the cigar, the art of smoking the cigar, the cigar community and the cigar commaraderie, but deep within the natural instinct of man and woman lies the need to be of gender. This uniqueness of each sex, is what draws us toward the center. There we find and treasure the physical, emotional and spiritual connection we need to exist. Make sense?
