Life for a Woman in Transition...Cigar Anyone?

The acceptance of females into a social circle requiring the zipper be zipped on the right side, and the "smell good" be referred to as "cologne" rather than "perfume", has been difficult, and the bar still exists today. Most women hesitate to enter a Cigar Bar, an establishment frequented primarily by men. A woman's presence in a male dominated social setting is still viewed by some as "eye candy", and to others, the company of an intelligent female, especially one that puffs on a Partagas or Cohiba Cigar once in awhile; a woman who would enjoy an evening sipping a cognac at the Cigar Bar, is a delight. But there still exists the antiquated mind set of a very few men, that would rather keep a man's man, just that, and not have their scared ground trespassed upon. With this in mind, I enter into the cigar culture.

Sigh, breaking into the cigar game is hard to do!

As a result of the bar being raised, a woman's qualifications questioned, and the transition of one's self that most women experience at some point in their lives; I chose to become part of an "old boys club". I have thrown myself into the mighty world of the Renaissance Man! Into the realms of the smoky, dim lit Cigar Bar, the conversation limited to the melodic description and review of the performance of the cigar being smoked. Perhaps a roar of laughter heard in response to a story or two told by the evening's center of attention and his devoted audience. I am engrossed with the examination of this culture in an effort to develop a kindling to the Friday's Cigar Review. My fascination with the challenge in becoming a knowledgeable member of the age old tradition of cigar smoking!

With the assistance of my cigar partner Tinderbox.com, and following a series of bloggers well versed in their knowledge of the cigar and an authentic affinity for great cigars and the cigar review, I've discovered there is far more to this phenomenon than the cigar and its smoker. The rich history dates back to Columbus's epic voyage of 1492, and its appeal has been the favor of Presidents, Prime Ministers, and the celebrity of the rich and famous. Why has the cigar culture become more appealing recently? Why has the resurgence of the cigar and its culture included both men and women! A perfect combination with which to focus my investment in both sexes. What makes the Modern Renaissance Man tick, and how does he satisfy his vertical partner, the Modern Renaissance Woman? Could this be an ideal opportunity to bring together "Beauty and the Beast"? Perhaps. The exciting and sometimes sexual interface of the misunderstood cigar culture.

My theory behind knowing one's partner and the success of a relationship is simple - If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. I say that with one caveat. As long as joining 'em does not result in any mishap, misfortune, or otherwise present a hardship on either parties concerned. A quick recommendation, if he's a fisherman, make a reservation at a fishing resort. If she enjoys a relaxing spa, make a reservation at "The Well Spa" at the Miramonte Resort, Desert Oasis. And if he enjoys an Arturo Fuente, Don Carlos Presidente cigar once in a while, learn his hobby. And if she likes to pamper and treasure her appearance, compliment her beauty.

The heart of this Blog is to help both men and women understand each other by sharing a common ground, and examining the alluring cigar culture that has captured and intrigued both sexes. Our focus will be "What makes the Modern Renaissance Man tick" and "How the Modern Woman fits into the Cigar World", all along investigating this deeply rich cigar culture.
