the internet travels at warp speed....
I received, this morning, directly from the Camacho Camp, the official Press Release regarding the acquisition. After reading this through, my impression of this is that it hugely redefines the Camacho brand and creates an entrance way into additional markets via the Oettinger Davidoff Group.

Amazing stuff...I posted this review at Cigars4Women....

I couldn't wait to do this review - I really enjoyed my first Mac last weekend, walking into a tasting event at the Thunderbird I had no idea was taking place. The Robusto lived up to the hype, unlike the usual Macanudo - mild and even tempered, this stick was full bodied and smoked with ease. I just new the Robusto plus I brought home with me would be a stick to review. It's been a while since I actually sat down with a camera and note pad....So, here it is....
Pre light, this cigar with its sweet smell was a beauty. Well constructed - a premium for sure...a dark, oily sheened wrapper. I snipped the tip, did the pre-light, pre-draw, and picked up a shot of cognac, not in a snifter...lol....but flavor wise. I prepared myself for a nice relaxing smoke. And then it began. The first draw was tight, and for me, a tight draw fires the red flag. I knew I would have to pay attention. When a draw is tight, chances are, the burn is off.

By midway I hoped the Mac would straighten out, and start to smoke right - wasn't the case. The draw did begin to loosen up. The burn line remained wavy, and the ash unlike the Robusto I had, was lighter and did not hold well. The cognac I tasted earlier on the prelight, was more licorise now throughout - Zambuca; which, remained consistent to the end.
Finally time for the band test - to pop or not to pop - it popped!
The final leg of this journey. The 68 did even out. By the nub, the draw released an anticipated billow of smoke, and a pepper tingle left on the lip. I think this is definitely a case of "No two Cigars Smoke alike".... I would most certainly smoke another Macanudo 1968. As a matter of fact I went to the Thunderbird this afternoon to pick up another, and they were sold out! The ladies Nod....Yes, Mac 1968 'cus I enjoyed the first....
