Women want to know - women are fascinated by the ins and outs of the cigar. We have a deep desire to know what we smoke. And contrary to what most would believe, we won't settle for being led to the "Flavored Cigarillo Section" of the B&M!
Solet's get back to the basics - we need to help a sistah out when she has a few questions about the passion she has recently acquired....

Rosado Wrappers:Meaning pink in Spanish; these wrappers have a reddish hue and thecigars that utilize the Rosado wrapper are characterized as spicy andfull of flavor. There are very few cigars in the market that use Rosadowrappers but the few that do have a loyal following. The reddish colorcomes from various strains of tobacco and from the growing conditions. The Cuban Parejo by Perdomo is grown with Nicaraguan seed and comes withboth a Rosado and Maduro wrap. Coming in big ring gauges allows thiscigar to make use of the Rosado wrap to deliver a full, complex taste.Another Rosado wrapped offering from Perdomo, Dos Rios, is grown inEcuador with an Indonesian seed tobacco. A very economical priced cigar,Dos Rios comes in a box-press and has very spicy overtones. Taking theRosado wrap to an extreme is LaEstrella Cubana, which is cured withSangria wine smoothing out the spicy overtones.
Sun-Grown Wrappers:The terms Sun-Grown, Virgin Sun-Grown,Havana Sun-Grown are allgeneralizations on wrappers grown in sunlight without cheesecloth ormuslin covers. Ecuador has become one of the leading producers of thistype of wrapper; during the rainy season the sky is obscured by cloudseliminating the need for the tobacco to becovered. They produce arobust, fuller bodied smoke then most wrappers. The Oliva "O" series ofcigars feature a sun-grown wrapper that gives the cigar its strength, yet remains very smooth. Another example of this wrapper can be found onthe "Original Cubans" brand, a cigar that hearkens back to when Cubancigars were the standard by which all others were measured.
Partagas Spanish Rosada
TheSpanish Rosado name is derived from the wrapper that isgrown exclusively for General Cigar in the San Agustin Valley inHonduras."Spanish" refers to the country of Spain's influence inHonduran history, while "Rosado" refers to the reddish hue found ineach wrapper. The new Partagas Spanish Rosado offers a new, uniquetaste that consumers have come to expect from Partagas. TheHonduran-shade wrapper offers a rich, oily appearance with a consistentdark reddish-brown color. Because of the uniqueness of the soil, thewrapper provides a spicy taste with hints of cinnamon that burns white, leaving a beautiful ash. A Connecticut Broadleaf binder with a blendof Dominican, Honduran and Mexican tobaccos combine to make this mediumto full-bodied cigar a must-have for serious cigar smokers.
