The Weekend is here.....

Last week I wrote a post and talked about how the Cigar Community has taken to the waves of the internet and created a new wave of Virtual Herfers.  The industry has never seemed so alive and vibrant as it is now with more means of learning, gathering and exploring the history of this fine art of Cigar Smoking.  Not only has it opened the door for the Women Cigar Smokers, but for the avid enthusiast and budding aficionado as well.  Saturday mornings are no longer reserved for the coffee a cigar and the New York Times, we can now log onto our favorite emag and fill our morning with interesting fun articles on all that is Cigar....

Cigar Report Daily is a news network for the luxurious and knowledged cigar smoker.  One of my favorite sections on the site is "This Week in Cigar History"

"Like a cat with nine lives, the elusive bank robber John Dillinger escaped from a law enforcement full court presses, most notably thoseled by the obsessed J. Edgar Hoover...for years. But the criminal to some, Robin Hood folk hero to others lost in life's tenth round. Dillinger went down in a hail of bullets unleashed by federal agents outside a Chicago theater -- after the FBI's Melvin Purvis' go-ahead signal of lighting his cigar, this week on July 22, 1934."

Cigar Inspector celebrated its first Anniversary this week - how time flies  when you're having fun!  The Inspector published the first cigar review (it was a Bolivar Coronas Gigantes) on the 22nd of July, 2007. Since its inception, posting of around 150 reviews of both Cuban and non-Cuban cigars.

Happy Birthday.  Keep up the good reviewing and Congrats from Damsel...

More exciting news from Fumee World - they have found their Retail Space!

"I’ve been sort of quiet on this front lately, because I didn’t want to jinx things. How many times have I posted “I think we found a space!” And then it doesn’t work out? This may still be one of those times, but we’re in much, much farther this time, so I think it’s really, truly, going to happen. So here goes. We found a space!"

Congratulations Fumee World - its been a long haul but its wonderful to hear when dreams come true!

This next highlight was particularly interesting to me....

"On the first day of the IPCPR trade show in Las Vegas, Brian and I were going randomly from booth to booth speaking with the people that we knew. As we went along introducing one another to the different manufacturers we knew we came to the Arganese booth."

Arganese Cigars is probably one of the most marketable Cigar Companies around. Founder Gene Arganese has built the value of his company through the genius of an exciting marketing and advertising campaign. His flamboyant style, and great product have placed these cigars in the top ranking of cigars (IMO, and it appeals that Sandra Corn heads up an executive position with the company!)

Walt from Stogie Review  gives us the heads up on a new cigar that Gene was working on with Joe Gannascoli (Vito from the Sopranos) entitled “Cugine”.

As a budding Cigar Entrepreneur, and a Woman on a mission - keep watching Damsel's Life in Transition

Well that's a wrap for this weekend....

Longest Ashes, have a great week!
