"The world of cigars can be a pretty intimidating place for a woman. Not only is it mostly male dominated, but it has a history of being associated with either pompous old men who know everything about everything or dirty old bums who have bad teeth, horrible hygiene, and live in a boxcar."

words of wisdom from Cigar Jack's better half....

It wasn't that I fell back in disappointment or disillusionment in the progress made by Women who Love a Cigar.  It was more that I truly understood where this wonderful woman was coming from -

"REWIND - What are you talking about Damsel?"

Way back when, I too was a wife who pursued certain interests that brought my (then and now ex) husband and I to a place we could share! I even tried watching and actually following car racing! I truly did love my (then and now ex) husband! So, when wives join their husbands in a social smoke, and participate in the cultural art of the cigar world, it is a selfless act of support for their husband. Not all women will join the ranks of the BOTL/SOTL, nor will they participate in and actually enjoy a good cigar for their husbands. I know of one woman who fusses, calls her husband out of his name, and enforces a non-smoking within 25 feet of the home law! It is so true -

"Behind every good Cigar smoking Man,
is a Good Cigar Smoking Woman"

I say that to say this.....

Now as for me....

".....it still never occurred to me that he would take in on as a side hobby that would eventually turn into a desire to pursue a full time career somewhere in the cigar industry."

I feel ya Cigar Jack....I never dreamed in my wildest imagination that I would fall in love with this Cigar culture and it would....."eventually turn into a desire to pursue a full time career somewhere in the cigar industry"

Go figure...
