Women, cigars a great body and stylish leather and lace have always been - to some and not all -the vision of the "good ole boy's" fantasy and desire. That is, until real Cigar Women showed up!
I have recently claimed reigning title for both 2007 and 2008 Cigar Woman, for which I laid challenge to any other worthy candidate to come forward. To my delight, I have not received an inkling of interest. With best regards, I accept this self imposed honor and represent the Women who smoke cigars - at least in my little world.
My journey began some time ago, and as a recap, and briefly put, it went a little something like this - and for my readers who have followed this journey, sing along with me, you know the words
"he crept into my life...introduced me to a Romeo y Julieta on Sunset - and crept back out"
and we all know that my love for the cigar and its culture was born on that day - which now brings me here to you....
Now the topic at hand this morning is - do men really consider women who love cigars to be invading their personal space, and do they welcome us into their private domain otherwise known as the "good ole boys club".
As cigar woman 2008, I can honestly say tht I've come across some very welcoming gentlemen who have not displayed any negative behavior toward my - and at times rather ambitious, forge into their domain. These men are the champions of the cigar culture!
Unfortunately, with every good experience there is a bad apple or two lurking in the virtual world out there, but ho-hum ladies, we won't pay attention, pity on them. For our pruposes we will continue to flourish, reach new heights, enjoy our cigars, learn more about the art of cigar smoking, and rise to the occasion increasing our representation in the demographic.
And pleasantly, I say with the gentlemen I network at Social Cigar it doesn't matter that i'm a 5'5" brunette, smyle.
but it sure helps at the service station!
