"....but I have on at least one occasion misread the situation, where a woman has been intrigued by my cigar."

and I have at least on one occasion misread a situation....or two...

When I created Cigars4Women, a social network for women who engage in the fine art of cigar smoking, my purpose was motivated by the belief that women cigar smokers were so unique and separate in their experiences with the cigar culture. We needed a place to lay our heads, gather and nest among our sisters of like minds.  I'm still of the view that we are a unique breed of womanhood, a divine individual. The Woman Cigar Smoker - She flys in the face of her critics, bucks the confines of society, and refuses to accept the negative identity placed upon her by the non smoking more conservative mainstream female. Her passion for the cigar culture outweighs any risk of her being shunned or cast away from the afternoon teas, the garden parties, baby showers or girls night out. Rather, she finds, women of like mind. So the purpose of C4W was to facilitate this meeting, bring these women together, virtually and purhaps eventually in real time. But what I hadn't planned for or even contemplated....What I didn't foresee was an increase in the male membership. What I didn't foresee was seeing more similarities between the two genders. What I didn't expect to happen was our brothers showing us another side of the male cigar smoker. In some ways, and through some discussions they appear almost protective... the big brother comes out, and pure respect for their sisters surfaces.

A discussion was started, and one of our brothers shared his experience smoking in public with a lady friend. The looks received from passer bys were not only meant for her, the woman cigar smoker, but meant for both. He went on to share how women were intrigued when he was spotted with a cigar.  Hmmm... cigars a chick magnet?

cigars are sensual, women or men.....

Cigar smoking is shunned by the non smoker, whether the enthusiast is male or female. You see, we are of the same leaf. And as the change goes, the cigar culture is moving closer to the center.  We are in transition...A Life in Transition - A Culture in Transition...

And for me, to play a role in facilitating this transition as the "Cigar Woman", fills my heart, and fuels my passion...motivates the sail to higher places.  My belief and mantra is Life must be in Transition always - cus, if we stay in one place for too long with the comfy slipper, the comfy slipper becomes worn and before you know it - its time to toss....and you wore that slipper for a long time, so long that you may have missed out on running barefoot through the sand...

Like mama says, two things in life are constant....

"change and change"
