Juanita Jordan could possibly "get more than $150 million in a settlement, making the Jordan divorce the most expensive in entertainment history," Forbes said.

Our fascination with celebrity.

I began this morning's ritual as I usually do, considering a witty exploration into my curiosity with the cigar culture, my sisterhood, women, cigars, smoking, men, relationships, the men who love us, California dreaming, sunshine, cigars and the celebrity.

I say that to say this.....

Attraction with the celebrity, their lifestyle makes our world go round. A dissolution of marriage, and the breakdown of their family, the harder hit the more appeal it has with the public.  Go figure, huh!

One of the most amazing athletes the world has ever known, made the Forbes' list of most expensive divorces. Michael Jordan is a well known cigar enthusiast and an interview with this marketing mogul was featured by Cigar Aficionado as  One-on-One with Michael Jordan, archive July/August, 2005.

The rise and fall of the celebrity personal life is an attraction, coupled with the cigar culture, churns the wheels of the capital machine. Whether he/she makes or breaks it becomes an obsession to some fans, sky rocketing the celebrity's popularity. The ability to catapult a product by one word of endorsement is a marketers dream made in heaven! Every aspect of their lives, good or bad, becomes a commodity and revenue generator.

I was asked recently by a non-smoker what differentiates the cigar from other tobacco products, and why should our cigar culture be exempt from any regulations posed against the tobacco industry. My answer, Premium Cigars are a luxury item, and cigar smoking is not a result of any habitual behaviors.

We indulge in our cigars because of 3 "C's" Community, Camaraderie and Culture

The fact that celebrities such as Michael Jordan, William Shatner, Whoopi Goldberg, Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige and the creme de la creme Ms. J. Lopez herself, have taken to the relaxation methods a good cigar provides, only heightens, confirms and solidifies the luxury of the premium cigar. Jay-Z says, a Zino Platinum fan

Jay-Z, who says he has smoked cigars "on and off since 1996," is partial to Zino Platinums, which come in large silver matchboxes of three cigars for $87 to $117. They have a cachet among the hip-hop crowd, he says. "You got your big cigar going, a nice glass of cognac, you feel like you've made it."

The fascination with a rise and fall of the celebrity is a global phenomenon. My fascination with the luxury of the Premium Cigar is my obsession - the correlation between the cigar, the woman and the celebrity is purely coincidental.

Success is a measure of luxury, ambition and determination. When given lemons, make lemonade - a positive outcome is sure to follow.

And then give yourself a Cigar
